Week 2 – Sailing from Malaga to Gibraltar John fell down the hatch – ouch. His leg was seriously traumatized and took several weeks to get back to looking anything like normal. This gave us a mobility issue to solve. We had no wheelchair, mobility scooter nor electric bikes yet!
Walking down the main street in Gibraltar we walked into “Carlos” electrical store. – The solution..ELECTRIC SCOOTER….., they had on sale two Mi electric scooter. Within 30 min the very attentive shop owner ( Pedro) had assembled the scooters, downloaded our apps, set the things up, equipped us with helmets and security locks and we were mobile.
These are serious fun and soooo good when you are trying to refit a boat, and do the tourist thing. Especially when you have hurt your leg. Except when you try and balance a cardboard box full of rubbish on the base and speed away – recipe for disaster. Mr Hardys ingenus method of taking a cardboard box full of rubbish to the bin resulted in a spectacular looking WIPE OUT resulting in two very grazed knees adding to his already battered leg.
It was only weeks later when in Almerima we discovered loads of folk have these Mi scooters and the reviews are great. We now would not be without them and certainly make our “best boat buy list”.
RECOMMEDATION 2: Mi Electric Scooter x 2
